UL Recognized cables for industrial wiring and control panels
The IMC UL Recognized range includes AWM (Appliance Wiring Material) cables designed for internal wiring, interconnections and industrial applications requiring specific UL Styles. Available versions include shielded and unshielded configurations, with voltage and temperature ratings specified by the design.
Unshielded UL Recognized Cables
Unshielded cables are designed for power distribution, control and auxiliary signalling where there is no risk of signal distortion due to electromagnetic interference.
Features and Construction
Flexible bare or tinned copper conductors (Class 5). Special PVC insulation formulated to ensure immediate self-extinguishing properties (VW-1 Flame Test) and approval for high operating voltages (e.g., 600 V or 1000 V).
AWM Styles
Single-core cables such as UL 1061 (80°C - 300 V) / UL 10012 (105°C - 600 V/1000 V) used for internal control panel wiring, or multi-core cables such as UL 2587 / 21179 for flexible machinery control.
Key Benefits
Reduced outer diameter, maximum installation flexibility, easy stripping and optimized wiring costs.
Shielded UL Recognized Cables (EMC Shielding Efficiency)
Shielded cables are essential for connecting sensitive equipment, drives, inverter-driven motors and data lines for the North American market, where electromagnetic emission regulations are strictly enforced.
Features and Construction
A high-coverage shield is applied over the flexible conductor assembly, typically consisting of an aluminum/polyester tape paired with a bare or tinned copper braid (80%–85% coverage).
AWM Styles
Multi-core cables such as Shielded UL 2587 or UL 21179 for servomotors and critical data transmission.
Key Benefits
Minimization of high- and low-frequency interference (EMI/RFI). Protection of analog and digital signals, preventing malfunctions in internal panel control electronics.
Technical Specifications and Usage Ratings
All cables in the IMC UL/CSA range are engineered to meet US testing standards:
High Thermal Rating
Certified for continuous operation at temperatures of 80°C, 90°C or 105°C, ensuring higher current-carrying capacity for the same cross-section compared to standard European cables.
Dual Marking (Multi-Standard)
These cables hold UL / CSA approvals and carry CE marking. This allows machine builders to use a single cable type for both European and North American markets, streamlining inventory management.
