PUR cables for harsh environments
IMC PUR cables are engineered for industrial applications demanding mechanical resistance, flexibility and protection against oils, abrasion and chemicals compatible with the compound. The polyurethane outer sheath ensures high performance in harsh environments, helping extend connection service life when selected and installed according to designated operating conditions.
Technical Features and Strengths
High Mechanical Resistance
The PUR sheath provides strong resistance to abrasion, friction, cutting and mechanical stresses typical of harsh industrial environments, depending on configuration and operating conditions.
Chemical Inertia and Oil Resistance
Excellent compatibility with heavily contaminated industrial environments. PUR withstands lubricating oils, hydraulic fluids, coolants and cutting fluids (neat oils and emulsions), hydrocarbons, greases and common solvents.
Flexibility and Low-Temperature Elasticity
Unlike PVC, which tends to stiffen and become brittle in cold conditions, Polyurethane maintains excellent flexibility and structural stability even at extreme temperatures (down to -40°C).
Environmental and Hydrolysis Resistance
The compound formulation provides high resistance to UV radiation, ozone, weathering, microbes and hydrolysis (degradation caused by prolonged exposure to moisture or warm water).
