Cables for servomotors, inverters and industrial drives
IMC servomotor cables are designed for powering servomotors and inverter-controlled motors. The 4-core configurations or 3+3 balanced triple configurations allow for the selection of the most suitable solution based on power, link length, EMC requirements, bending radius, and installation conditions. The shielding helps contain electromagnetic interference and protect sensitive control systems.
Standard 4-Core Configuration
(3 Phases + Earth)
Construction
Composed of 3 insulated phase conductors plus an earth conductor (Yellow/Green) of equal cross-section, stranded together in a single core under a total tinned copper braid shield.
Electrical Optimization
The use of special Polyethylene (PE) or Cross-linked Polyethylene (XLPE) insulation ensures lower mutual capacitance compared to standard cables. This significantly limits parasitic leakage currents and prevents cable overheating, safeguarding inverter efficiency.
Typical Application
An ideal, compact, and flexible solution for small-to-medium power servomotors (typically with conductor cross-sections up to 6 mm2 or 10 mm2), where machine space is limited and bending radii must be minimized.
Balanced/Symmetrical Triple Configuration (3+3)
Construction
Designed for the most critical applications. The cable core consists of the 3 main phases arranged in a symmetrical triangle; the earth conductor is split into 3 geometrically identical conductors housed in the gaps between the phases. The entire assembly is enclosed by a high-coverage shield (Al/PET tape + Copper braid).
Magnetic Field Protection
This balanced layout reduces external magnetic fields and drastically reduces high-frequency ground currents and "bearing currents," protecting motor bearings from electrical corrosion (pitting).
Typical Application
Recommended for high-power systems, large motors, long cable runs, and wherever maximum strictness in compliance with industrial EMC standards is required.
Construction Features Common to the Servo Line
EMC Shielding
High-efficiency combined shielding to minimize both high-frequency (RFI) and low-frequency (EMI) interference.
High-Resistance Sheaths
Outer coatings formulated to resist the aggressive action of industrial oils, cutting fluids, and hydrocarbons. Available in special PVC for severe mechanical use.
Safety
Self-extinguishing versions available in LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) configuration to ensure the absence of toxic smoke in compliance with European safety directives.
