Extra-flexible cables for industrial wiring and tight spaces

IMC extra-flexible cables are engineered for applications demanding soft touch, easy handling, and effortless installation. The use of fine-wire stranded conductors combined with elastomeric or special PVC compounds enables wiring in tight spaces and on complex machinery.

Construction Features

Ultra-Fine Copper Conductors (Class 6)
The secret to their flexibility lies in the fine wire cabling of the strand. For example, a standard 1.5 mm2 Class 5 conductor uses wires of approximately 0.25 mm, whereas the extra-flexible Class 6 version utilizes wires of 0.15 mm or smaller. This distributes tensile and compressive stress over a larger surface area, preventing metal fatigue.

Short Lay Length
In multi-core cables, the inner cores are twisted together with a very tight lay length. This geometry allows the cores to slide over one another during bending, reducing overall mechanical strain on the cable.

High-Elasticity Insulation and Sheaths
Special extra-soft PVC or Polyurethane (PUR) compounds are used. These materials accommodate copper movement without cracking and ensure perfect spring-back elasticity.

Shielded vs. Unshielded

Unshielded Versions
The ultimate expression of flexibility and suppleness. The cable behaves almost like a rope, accommodating any manual or mechanical twisting.

Shielded Versions
To preserve extra flexibility while providing EMC shielding, rigid aluminum tapes are avoided in favor of optimized bare or tinned copper braids or spiral copper wire shields. This maintains noise protection without stiffening the cable structure.
